Blue Raiders Ready for Doubleheader Action vs. FIU and Ball State

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders are set to host a doubleheader Saturday, facing Ball State and conference opponent Florida International.
Middle Tennessee returns to action following a week-long break after a decisive 6-1 win over Missouri State on Feb. 24. The Blue Raiders enter the doubleheader on a five-match win streak, opening the day against FIU before taking on Ball State after a short break.
History vs. FIU
This will be the 15th meeting between the Blue Raiders and Panthers, with the series dating back to 2005. FIU holds a 13-0 record against Middle Tennessee, including a 4-0 win last season.
FIU enters the matchup with a 4-2 record, including two wins over a previously ranked Miami (Fla.) team. The Panthers are led by No. 75 Ekaterina Khayrutdinova and No. 91 Oyinlomo Quadre in singles play, along with Katerina Madelikova. In doubles, FIU is 7-7 on the season, with its top pairing being Khayrutdinova and Quadre.
Before traveling to Murfreesboro, FIU plays a conference match Friday against Western Kentucky in Bowling Green. The Panthers then head 100 miles south to face the Blue Raiders at 10 a.m. Saturday at the MTSU Outdoor Tennis Center.

Following the FIU match, Middle Tennessee will take on Ball State in the second half of the doubleheader. This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the teams. Ball State leads the series 2-1, but Middle Tennessee secured its first win against the Cardinals in 2022 with a 4-3 victory.
Ball State enters the match with a 5-4 record, coming off a 4-3 win over Austin Peay on Thursday. The Cardinals carry a two-match win streak into Saturday's contest. The match against Ball State is set for 3 p.m. at the MTSU Tennis Center.
