Middle Tennessee Kicks Off the Postseason vs Jacksonville State

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – No. 2 seed Middle Tennessee is gearing up for the Conference USA women's tennis tournament this week in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Blue Raiders are set to face No. 7 seed Jacksonville State in the quarterfinals.
Middle Tennessee is coming off a trip to Texas, where it faced Sam Houston and Rice. The Blue Raiders defeated CUSA opponent Sam Houston, 4-0, but fell to Rice by the same score to close out the regular season. Now, all attention shifts to the start of the CUSA tournament.
Facing the Gamecocks
This will be the second meeting this season between the Blue Raiders and the Gamecocks. The last matchup was on March 29, when Middle Tennessee earned a 4-2 victory over Jacksonville State.
Jacksonville State advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Sam Houston, 4-0, in the opening round. The Gamecocks secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three and fought through some three-set battles to take the overall match.
Middle Tennessee begins its postseason run against Jacksonville State tomorrow at 9 a.m. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
