Blue Raiders Storm Past Jacksonville State 4-0 and Advances to the Semifinals

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Middle Tennessee rolled past Jacksonville State, 4-0, to advance to the semifinals of the Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship.
In a rematch of the regular season meeting, where Jacksonville State took the doubles point, the Blue Raiders flipped the script with wins on courts one and three. Lena Peyer and Eloise Swarbrick opened with a 6-3 victory over Polina Ramenskaja and Lea Erenda on Court 1.
Ilaria Sposetti and Cassidy Mataia clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win on Court 3 against Irene Artigas and Ella Tuomela. In the previous matchup between the teams, their match went unfinished.
Middle Tennessee carried its momentum into singles play, securing three straight set wins on Courts one, two, and four.
Sposetti gave the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over Erenda on Court 2. Alessia Truden followed with a commanding performance on Court 1, defeating Ana Syrova 6-3, 6-2.
With a 3-0 lead, all the Blue Raiders needed was one more point to secure the win. Mataia delivered, sealing the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Artigas on Court 4. The Australian native continues to be a steady force for Middle Tennessee.

"It feels good to get this win today. The girls played tough and steady, which we know is needed throughout this tournament. We started out well in doubles and continued in singles. The hard work is paying off, and we are looking forward to performing well in the semis tomorrow."
