MTSU drops games two and three vs. Gamecocks
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee softball fell to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, 5-3, at Blue Raider Softball Field on Saturday, April 19.
It was a back-and-forth battle for the Blue Raiders (22–24, 10–11 CUSA), but they ultimately came up short against the Gamecocks (30–18, 12–9 CUSA). Jax State opened the game with two solo home runs in the first inning. In the bottom half of the frame, Ansley Blevins hit a sacrifice fly to score Addy Edgmon and narrow the lead to one.
The Gamecocks extended their lead in the fourth inning with an RBI single, making it 3-1. In the fifth, with two outs and runners on second and third, Blevins ripped a two-RBI single to right field to even the game at three. However, Jax State plated two runs in the top of the seventh to seal the win.

The Blue Raiders will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to resume a previously paused game against Tennessee State due to rain.
