Middle Tennessee Wraps up the Tennessee Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders are coming off a strong showing at the Tennessee Invite, with several student-athletes setting personal bests and finishing on the podium.
In the team's third outdoor meet of the season, seven different Raiders earned podium finishes, and three set new personal records.
Raiders on the Podium
Faith Nyathi got the meet started for Middle Tennessee with a second-place finish in the women's 1500 meters. Later that day, John Sherman claimed third in the men's 200 meters with a strong performance.
Freshman Faith Jepchirchir continued her impressive outdoor campaign with a second-place finish in the 5000 meters. The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Tamia Waters, Miya Carthan, Courtney Green, and Laila Rudolph also reached the podium, taking third in their event.
Middle Tennessee saw two Raiders top the podium in individual events: Privillege Chikara won the 800 meters, and Carmelo Cannizzaro took first in the men's 5000 meters. To close out the meet, Joel Iheakolam claimed first place in the triple jump with a mark of 15.20 meters.
Strong Results Lead to New Personal Bests
Courtney Green kicked off the PR streak, clocking a 24.01 in the women's 200 meters—shaving 1.32 seconds off her previous best.
Madison Rooker continued her strong form in the 400-meter hurdles, setting a personal best of 1:10.07. It marks her second consecutive meet with a new PR.
Freshman Xarya Udoumana also hit a new milestone, running a 12.09 in the women's 100 meters.
It was another promising outing for Middle Tennessee, with several athletes showing strong form early in the outdoor season.

The Blue Raiders will hit the road again, this time heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the Alabama Relays. The meet runs from April 11–12 and will be hosted by the University of Alabama.
