Three Blue Raiders Named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's golfers JJ Zimmer, Carter Maneth and Luke Perkins have been named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Tuesday afternoon.
The honor recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the course and in the classroom. A total of 556 NCAA Division I golfers from 190 schools were selected this year.
"I want to congratulate JJ, Carter, and Luke on this distinction," said Head Coach Mark McEntire. "It is great to see them excel in the classroom as well as on the course."
Zimmer, a senior from Jackson, Tenn., boasts a 3.866 GPA as an Integrated Studies major. Maneth, a redshirt junior majoring in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration, holds a 3.625 GPA. Perkins, a junior, leads the Blue Raiders academically with a 3.974 GPA while majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Economics and Finance.
To qualify for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar status, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, maintain a minimum career GPA of 3.2, participate in at least 50% of their team's competitive rounds, and record a stroke average below 76.0. Recipients must also be of high moral character and in good standing at their university.
