MOBILE, Ala. — Middle Tennessee (3-1-1) suffered its first loss of the season Thursday night, falling 4-0 to South Alabama (3-1-0) at The Cage.
The Jaguars out shot the Blue Raiders 21-6 and scored three goals in the second half.
Defender Hannah Delaney made her second start of the season, while junior Hannah Murphy registered one shot on goal. Senior forward Taijah Fraser led the Blue Raiders with three shots.
Head coach Aston Rhoden on the first loss of the season:
We faced a good South Alabama team; however, I think we gave the ball away quite a bit. Against a team that's a high-possession team, we can't do that. We've just got to get better in transitional moments, the way we play, and then be able to stay focused for longer periods of time.

Demi Gronauer recorded a game-high four saves, tying her season-best mark set against Belmont on Aug. 14
