Maneth, Crowder Card Career Lows as Blue Raiders Sit Third at Sandestin Collegiate

DESTIN, Fla. – Middle Tennessee fired a 6-under-par 278 on Monday to sit in third place after the opening round of the Sandestin Collegiate Classic at The Raven Golf Club. Redshirt senior Carter Maneth paced the Blue Raiders with a career low round of 5-under-par 66 and is second in the individual standings.
South Alabama and ULM are tied atop the leaderboard after posting rounds of 7-under-par 277. The Blue Raiders are third at 6-under-par 278, while West Florida is fourth at 5-under-par 279.
West Florida's TJ Thompson leads the individual standings after firing an opening round of 6-under-par 65. He is followed Maneth at 5-under-par 66 and South Alabama's Hugo Thyr and High Point's Amilkar Bhana at 4-under-par 67.
The Sandestin Collegiate Classic continues with 18 holes on Tuesday, Sep. 23, and a final round on Wednesday, Sep. 24. Second round action will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT via shotgun start. The Blue Raiders will be paired with South Alabama, ULM and West Florida.
The Lineup
• Maneth set a career low with a 5-under-par 66 and sits in second place overall.
• Crowder also recorded a career-best, posting a 3-under-par 68 to tie for fifth.
• Freshman Cooper Solberg fired an even-par 71 to finish tied for 26th after day one.
• Redshirt sophomore Connor Henry carded a 2-over-par 73 and is tied for 52nd.
• Sophomore Owen Queener rounded out the lineup with a 4-over-par 75, tied for 66th.

"What a great round from Carter Maneth — I'm so proud of him," said Head Coach Mark McEntire. "We also got a big round from Maddox today, and overall, I'm pleased with how the team started. Now it's about building on this momentum and making a move tomorrow."
