Blue Raiders sweep Sandestin Collegiate Classic; Maneth earns first career win

DESTIN, Fla. – Middle Tennessee swept the Sandestin Collegiate Classic on Wednesday afternoon at The Raven Golf Club, winning both the team and individual titles behind a historic performance from redshirt senior Carter Maneth.
The Blue Raiders posted a three-round team score of 20-under-par 832 to capture the championship by four strokes over Austin Peay and ULM, who tied for second at 16-under-par 836. It marked the program's first team-and-individual sweep since Kevin Jegers and the Blue Raiders accomplished the feat at the 2022 Loyola Intercollegiate.
Maneth earned his first career win in record-setting fashion, firing a bogey-free, career-low 6-under-par 65 in Wednesday's final round. He set the program record for lowest 54-hole score, finishing at 16-under-par 197.
Austin Peay's Patton Samuels and High Point's Burch Harrison tied for second at 10-under-par 203, while Mercer's Phillips Swift and ULM's Amilkar Bhana shared fourth at 8-under-par 205
The Blue Raiders will return to action when they compete in The Island at West Bay Collegiate Invitational hosted by FGCU on Oct. 6-7 (Monday-Tuesday) in Estero, Florida.
The Lineup
• Maneth claimed medalist honors with rounds of 66-66-65 for a 16-under-par 197, setting the Middle Tennessee record for lowest 54-hole tournament score. He totaled 20 birdies on the tournament.
• Freshman Maddox Crowder tied for 12th at 5-under-par 208 after rounds of 68-71-69.
• Redshirt sophomore Connor Henry tied for 36th at 2-over-par 215, closing with a 2-under 69.
• Freshman Cooper Solberg tied for 43rd at 3-over-par 216, highlighted by a second-round 70.
• Sophomore Owen Queener tied for 60th at 6-over-par 219, including a 2-under 69 in round two

"Congratulations to our team and to Carter on an incredible week," said Head Coach Mark McEntire. "Carter's win is one of the great stories in college golf this year, and I'm so proud of the way he has responded and carried himself. He's an outstanding example for everyone in our program. I also love the way our group continues to grow together — we've got a really good team."
