Durbin garners first Conference USA Player of the Week honors

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Freshman outside hitter Raegan Durbin was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday, September 29. This marks the first CUSA weekly award of Durbin's career and is the first time a Blue Raider has taken home volleyball conference honors this season.
Middle Tennessee volleyball split with Kennesaw State in the opening weekend of CUSA play. In the Blue Raiders sweep of the first match against the Owls, Durbin led all players in the match both offensively and defensively with 13 kills on a .407 hitting efficiency and 19 digs. Her 19-dig match is now tied in the top three performances in the CUSA leaderboard for digs in a three-set match. Across both contests against Kennesaw State, Durbin totaled 26 kills and 29 digs, securing a double-double in each match, averaging 3.71 kills per set and a remarkable 4.14 digs per set from the outside pin.
Raegan Durbin has been an offensive force for Middle Tennessee, leading the Blue Raiders in both kills and kills per set. In the Conference USA leaderboards, Durbin is 8th in kills and 6th in both kills per set and points. She has double-doubled in six of the last seven matches, 3rd on the team in digs.

Middle Tennessee heads to Jacksonville, Ala. to take on Jax State in another two matches of Conference USA play. The Blue Raiders will face the Gamecocks on Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4.
