Durbin named TSWA Volleyball Player of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Just after being honored as Conference USA Freshman of the Week, Raegan Durbin has been named Tennessee Sports Writers Association's College Volleyball Player of the Week on Tuesday, September 30. This marks the first TSWA award of Durbin's career and is the second time a Blue Raider has taken home TSWA volleyball honors this season.
Durbin had a huge impact in Middle Tennessee's sweep of Kennesaw State to open Conference USA play. Durbin led all players in the match both offensively and defensively with 13 kills on a .407 hitting efficiency and 19 digs. Her 19-dig match is now tied in the top three performances in the CUSA leaderboard for digs in a three-set match. Across both contests against Kennesaw State, Durbin totaled 26 kills and 29 digs, securing a double-double in each match, averaging 3.71 kills per set and a remarkable 4.14 digs per set from the outside pin. Durbin has double-doubled in six of the last seven matches, leading the Blue Raiders in both kills and kills per set, and is 3rd on the team in digs.

Middle Tennessee heads to Jacksonville, Ala. to take on Jax State in another two matches of Conference USA play. The Blue Raiders will face the Gamecocks on Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4.
