Volleyball falls to Mississippi State in second match of the Blue Raider Bash

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee volleyball fell in a tough matchup to Mississippi State in the second day of the Blue Raider Bash. The set scores were as follows: 23-25, 18-25, 13-25.
The Blue Raider offense was led by freshman outside hitter duo Raegan Durbin and Gabrielle Clinkscale, Durbin with 11 kills and Clinkscale with eight. Michaela Dlouhá and Payton Deidesheimer added to the Middle Tennessee offense with five kills a piece. The Blue Raiders hit .233 on the match, the second highest hitting efficiency the Blue Raiders have produced this season.
The serve and pass game told the story of the match; the Bulldogs had nine aces to the Blue Raiders' four. Defensively the Blue Raiders were out-blocked eight blocks to six, and out-defended 43 digs to 33.
"I think that's the best team we've seen all year," said Head Coach Alexa Keckler. "A lot of times we don't learn from the wins, we learn from the losses. There are some good things to take away from this for sure."
By the Numbers
333: Freshman outside hitter Gabrielle Clinkscale hit a career-high .333 clip with eight kills on the match.
5: Junior middle blocker Michaela Dlouhá was credited with five block assists on the Blue Raiders six total blocks.
3: Graduate libero Isil Yilmaz now sits three digs away from the milestone 1,000 career digs.
