Women’s Soccer teed up for Sunday CUSA match at Delaware

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team will hope to snap a two-game winless skid when it embarks to Newark, Del. to take on Delaware on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. CT.

The Blue Raiders (8-3-4, 1-1-2 CUSA) will hope its welcoming of the Blue Hens (8-3-4, 3-0-1 CUSA) to Conference USA results in a victory as the sides did not face off in 2025, Delaware's inaugural season in the conference.

Quick Kicks

The Blue and White finished 7-2-2 in non-conference play, posting their highest win percentage (.727) since 2009 (.812) in the first period of the season.
Middle Tennessee Soccer began the season with a 4-0-2 record, its best start in program history.
The Blue Raiders enter the weekend with an 8-3-4 (1-1-2 CUSA) record, sitting on five points and in fifth in the conference standings.
Last Sunday, MTSU played out a 1-1 draw at Missouri State, with the captain-to-captain connection of Megan Carroll and Hannah Murphy scoring the equalizer for the Blue and White in the 43rd minute.
The goal marked Carroll's second goal in as many games and Murphy's third goal involvement in four contests, while adding to both's single-season career-best tallies.
The result marked MTSU's second consecutive draw, and the first time it has split the points in consecutive contests since Oct. 2 and Oct. 6, 2022 when it tied Western Kentucky (1-1) and Charlotte (1-1).
Ania Denham continues to lead the way in goals with eight, a tally she ties for the conference lead in.
Her goals and points tallies are tied for the most by any player in CUSA.
Five of the Welshwoman's goals have been game winners, which is a tally that she is tied for fifth nationwide in.
In total goals, she is fourth among true freshmen nationwide.
The nine's goal against Liberty marked her sixth consecutive match with a goal contribution, becoming the first Blue Raider to do so since Hannah Tillett between Aug. 31 and Sept. 30, 2018.

Series History
The CUSA bout will mark the first between the programs at both the conference level and the all-time level.

Scouting the Blue Hens
The Blue Raiders will aim to snap a two-match winless streak when they travel to Newark, Del. to take on the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens.

Sunday's contest will mark the first-ever contest between the two sides as MTSU hopes to move up the conference standings.

Last season, the Blue Hens tallied a 10-2-6 (3-2-3 CUSA) mark in their first season as a member of CUSA, qualifying to the conference tournament as the sixth seed before falling to Sam Houston, 1-1 (6-5 PK).

Delaware has not lost a game in five matches, dating back to its 2-1 defeat of Columbia on Sept. 20 just before beginning CUSA play.

In the 2026 Conference USA Preseason Poll, the Blue Hens were picked to finish third.

Delaware is led by 4th-year head coach Kelly Lawrence, who qualified her team for back-to-back conference tournament appearances for the first time since 2012-13.
