JOHNSON, Ark.- After day one of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, Middle Tennessee men's golf sits in sixth place with a total score of 300.
Maddox Crowder led the way on the day for the Blue Raiders after a hot start on the back nine at Blessings after teeing off on hole 10. Crowder was three-under after accumulating three birdies in his first nine holes of golf.
The sophomore was unable to hold that same consistency in the second half of the day, and finished one-under par at 71. Crowder sits T8 heading into day two.
Coming off his first career win at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, senior Connor Henry had his highest round of the season to this point with a three-over 75. The Fort Worth, Texas native encountered trouble on the front nine with three bogeys and a double bogey.
Trailing close behind Henry is freshman Stiles Hunter, who shot a 76 on day one of the tournament. This leaves Hunter just inside the top 30 at T27.
Jake Hopper rounds out the counted scores for the Blue Raiders, coming home from the course with a six-over 78 scorecard. Clay Pendergrass shot a 12-over 84 on the day.
Coach's Comments (Head Coach Mark McEntire)
