Blue Raiders grab two wins on day two of UF Tournament

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Middle Tennessee Softball (5-8) went 2-0 in day two of the UF Softball Tournament. The Blue Raiders defeated Lindenwood (6-5) by a score of 4-1 and Longwood (1-9) by a score of 9-2.

The Blue Raiders started the day with three home runs off the bats of Onnika Spencer, Lexi Medlock and Mady Pint to take down the Lions. Elle Hildreth got the start in the circle for Middle Tennessee, picking up the win and moving to 1-1 on the season. Braelyn Hall pitched two scoreless innings of relief to pick up her first save of the season, the first for the Blue Raiders.

The Middle Tennessee bats got even hotter in the second game against the Lancers. The Blue Raiders knocked seven hits, five of which were for extra bases. Pint led off with a Home Run for Middle Tennessee, the first time a Blue Raider has done so since Addy Edgmon in March of last season. Macie Harter went 3-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Medlock went 2-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. Mary Martinez got the start, picking up her first win and moving to 1-3 on the season. Braelyn Hall pitched two innings of hitless and scoreless innings of relief, where she struck out four of the six batters she faced.

By the Numbers

0: Braelyn Hall pitched two innings of hitless relief against Longwood, she is the first Blue Raider to do so since Claire Woods in April of 2024.
2: Middle Tennessee struck out just two times against Longwood, a new season low for the Blue Raiders.
