TROY, Ala. – Middle Tennessee Softball (1-4) dropped the final matchup of the Trojan Classic to North Alabama (4-1) by a final score of 4-2.

The Blue Raiders started off hot with a leadoff double from Jana Want and an RBI single from Onnika Spencer to bring her to the plate in the top of the first. Middle Tennessee extended the lead in the third inning with an RBI single off the bat of Mady Pint. Braelyn Hall got the start in the circle, pitching five scoreless innings and striking out four before Elle Hildreth entered the game in relief.

Middle Tennessee held the lead until the bottom of the sixth inning, where North Alabama put four runs on the scoreboard to take the lead into the final inning of the game. With one last chance to stay in the game, the Blue Raiders had the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, but ultimately left the runners stranded to end the game.

By the Numbers

1: Head Coach Jeff Breeden is one win away from the milestone 300 career wins at Middle Tennessee.

2: Mady Pint and Jana Want both had two-hit games against North Alabama.

5: Braelyn Hall pitched five scoreless innings for the Blue Raiders.

The Blue Raiders are back on the road to Chattanooga for another five-game weekend. Middle Tennessee will face Canisius at 3:00 p.m. and Bellarmine at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13in the first day of the Chattanooga Challenge.
