Men's Basketball prepped for CUSA Championship Quarterfinals against LA Tech

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's basketball program is set to open the Conference USA Championship with a quarterfinal contest against LA Tech. The game is set to tip off Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala., while being streamed on ESPN+ and Blue Raider Network.
Series History
The conference quarterfinal matchup marks the third-straight year that the Blue Raiders will face off against LA Tech in the opening contest of the championship. MTSU has downed the Bulldogs in both previous neutral site games in Huntsville.

- Two Blue Raiders in Torey Alston and Kamari Lands were recognized for their play in the postseason Conference USA awards, announced by the league office Monday.
- Alston, who was named to the All-Freshman Team last year, was voted to the All-CUSA Third Team, while Lands received his first conference accolade in his selection to the Honorable Mention List.
- For the third time this season, the Blue Raiders swept a conference series, this time, against Missouri State, It was a tightly contested double overtime win in the Murphy Center, before closing the regular season out with the second-largest conference play winning margin in Springfield, 75-63.
- The fifth-straight win for the Blue Raiders continues the longest winning streak for MTSU this season, marking the most consecutive wins for Middle Tennessee since the streak from January 13-29, 2022.
- It was all green lights for Tre Green at FIU, who tallied 25 points to lead the team to a fourth-straight win, 73-67. He dropped in six made threes, tying the most for him in his collegiate career, and scored the opening nine points for the Blue Raiders on three made shots from behind the arc.
- Kamari Lands led the way in the assist column at Missouri State, dishing out five, while adding in nine points of his own. It marks the fourth time this season he has led the team in assists.
- Jarred Hall subbed in for big, quality minutes in Missouri, going 3-3 from the field with a statement dunk and an easy three from the wing to tally a season-best seven points.
Bulldog Notes
- LA Tech enters Thursday's contest with an 18-13 overall record and 11-9 in league play after tying for third in conference standings.
- The Bulldogs closed out the regular season on a high note, winning four of its last six games including a road sweep against Liberty and Delaware.
- LT ranks eighth in the country in scoring defense, 64.6, and 10th in field goal percentage defense, 39.0, both sit atop the conference.
- Three Bulldogs were named to all-conference teams. DJ Dudley was voted Third Team, AJ Bates Honorable Mention and Melian Martinez All-Defensive.
