MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee baseball returns home to The Reese after a four game road trip for a Conference USA series against the New Mexico State Aggies. The Blue Raiders are looking to rebound in league play after dropping under the .500 mark.
New Mexico State enters the series at .500 in CUSA play, after taking two of three from Louisiana Tech and picking up a win against Dallas Baptist. Notable non-conference results for the Aggies include going 1-3 against ranked opponents, with a win over No. 25 UTSA.

Last Time Out: The Blue Raiders bounced back in a 10-2 midweek win over Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Ala. Bryant Beranek picked up the first win of his senior season with 5.0 scoreless innings. Dean O'Neill shined at the plate, going 3-for-5 with 3 RBI and a home run.
Milestone Reached: MTSU Skipper Jerry Meyers picked up his 250th career win after Tuesday's game against Alabama A&M. It was Meyers' 83rd win at the helm of Middle Tennessee's club midway through his fourth season in Murfreesboro.
Hits, Hits and More Hits: Blue Raider right fielder Brett Rogers is leading the way in overall hits for Conference USA with 37. The Chattanooga native is also chasing the league's batting title, with a .389 mark slotting him into fourth place in CUSA.
Opening Day Blue Raiders: Four former Blue Raiders are on the verge of beginning the season in affiliated ranks. RHPs Jaden Hamm (Detroit), Trace Phillips (Tampa Bay), Eriq Swan (Washington) along with catchers Jeremiah Boyd (Arizona) and Aaron Antonini (Detroit) are scheduled to begin the year in the MiLB.
Leading The League From the Leadoff: Center fielder Owen Nowak now leads CUSA in on-base percentage (.555) after another strong week at the plate. The Wisconsin native slashed .625/.684/.625 in four games while picking up 10 hits for Middle Tennessee. Nowak is third in the conference in batting, with a .400 mark
O'Neill's Eight: C/1B Dean O'Neill blasted his eighth home run of the season in the win against Alabama A&M. The first-year transfer from Maine leads the Blue Raiders in home runs, and is fourth in CUSA in long balls. O'Neill has already set his career high in homers, after hitting seven in both his sophomore and junior campaigns.
Picking Pick Out of the 'Pen: Junior left-hander John Micheal Pickens has provided length out of the bullpen as of late, with two of his last three outings going for 3.0 innings or more.
Pickens tossed 3.0 scoreless frames on Tuesday against Alabama A&M, striking out one Bulldog while not allowing a walk.
Decisions, Decisions: Blue Raider right-hander Landen Burch leads the team in both wins and losses with a 4-3 record. The Corning, New York native is tied for the CUSA lead in wins with four, while being tied for third in the league with two saves.
Back-to-Back Jacks: In the fifth inning of Sunday's loss to the Bears, left fielder Nathan Brewer and designated hitter Layne Akers launched back-to-back home runs to give the Blue Raiders an 8-5 lead.
This was the fifth time this season that two Blue Raider hitters have hit consecutive home runs.
Lucky No. 7: Senior right-hander David Horn Jr. picked up his second-highest strikeout total of the season in his start on Sunday, striking out seven Bear hitters. Horn's highest count came with a nine-strikeout performance against Bellarmine on Feb. 14.
Ol' Reliable: Left-hander Chandler Alderman had his second longest outing of the season on Friday night, tossing 5.0 innings of two-run ball against the Bears. The junior picked up his 140th career strikeout in the outing.
Triple Double: Blue Raiders first baseman Tyler Minnick had a historic day at the plate against EKU. The Smyrna, Georgia native tallied three doubles with four RBI in the win, becoming the first MTSU hitter to notch three doubles in a game since 2016.
Junior's Back on Track: Senior right-hander David Horn Jr. got himself back on track in his latest start in game three againt Kennesaw State. As apart of the Blue Raiders' 4-3 win, Horn Jr., tossed a season-high of 5.1 innings, with five strikeouts and only one earned run allowed.
A Grand Brewer: Left fielder Nathan Brewer broke through in the game two run-rule win against Kennesaw State, blasting a grand slam to right field. Brewer's second home run of the year was MTSU's first grandslam since March of 2025, when Brett Vondohlen walked off UT Martin with a grand slam.
