Blue Raiders drop first contest in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Middle Tennessee Softball (13-17, 3-7 CUSA) dropped its opening contest against Sam Houston (22-15, 7-3 CUSA) by a score of 2-0.
Braelyn Hall got the start in the circle for the Blue Raiders, giving up two runs in the bottom of the first and shutting the Bearkats out for the rest of the game. Hall struck out five batters in six innings of work and recorded the loss, moving to 4-7 on the season.
In the box, Middle Tennessee recorded four hits off the bats of Macie Harter, Jana Want and Mady Pint. The Blue Raiders stranded eight total base runners, including two in the top of the seventh in a two-out comeback attempt.
