Middle Tennessee completes series sweep at Missouri State, 75-63

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Middle Tennessee men's basketball team (17-14) picked up a strong road victory Saturday afternoon, defeating the Missouri State Bears 75-63 at Great Southern Bank Arena. The Blue Raiders are now coasting a five-game winning streak as they enter the Conference USA Championships.
Middle Tennessee settled in after an early deficit and controlled much of the contest, leading for more than 34 minutes. The Blue Raiders used efficient shooting and balanced scoring to build a double-digit advantage in the second half, eventually stretching the lead to as many as 13 points on the way to the win.
Torey Alston led the way with a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds, his league-leading ninth of the season. Tre Green followed his career night Thursday with 12 points this afternoon, knocking down four three-pointers to help spark the Blue Raiders' perimeter shooting as the team made 42.9 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc.
Middle Tennessee also received solid contributions throughout the lineup. Jahvin Carter chipped in 10 points and four assists, while Kamari Lands scored nine points and went a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, dishing out five assists as well.
Defensively, the Blue Raiders limited Missouri State to just 5-for-23 shooting from three-point range (21.7 percent) and forced nine turnovers while controlling the tempo for most of the afternoon.
