Middle Tennessee Opens NCAA Play Against No. 31 NC State

Athens, Ga. — No. 48 MTSU (22-8) will play No. 31 NC State (16-7) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 1, at 12 p.m. CT / 1 p.m. ET.
Middle Tennessee last played NC State in 2022, when NC State won 4-3 in the tournament's second round. NC State leads the series 3-2.

Middle Tennessee swept the 2026 CUSA Men's Tennis Superlative Awards, with five Blue Raiders receiving All-Conference honors. Head coach Jimmy Borendame was named Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year, bringing his total to seven CUSA Coach of the Year awards (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025, and 2026).
Senior Ondrej Horak was named Player of the Year, Outstanding Singles Player of the Championship, and part of the Outstanding Doubles Team of the Championship. He also earned All-Conference First Team honors in both singles and doubles for the second consecutive year. Antoine Mayoral was named Freshman of the Year and recognized as part of the Outstanding Doubles Team of the Championship.
