Blue Raiders in second after opening round at Golfweek Spring Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – After the opening 18 holes of the Golfweek Spring Challenge, the Middle Tennessee women's golf program sits second overall, carding a 289 (+4) Monday afternoon at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, S.C.
Isabella Johnson leads the way for the Blue Raiders, carding the lone round below par with a one-under 70. The 15th round at par or better for the sophomore saw her tally five birdies, with four of those being on the front nine, to sit in seventh overall.
Jillian Bowman and Caroline Pardue both turned in a round at par (71) to place tied for ninth on the player leaderboard. Both golfers had just two birdies and two bogeys on the day, with most of Bowman's coming in the back nine and majority of Pardue's on the front. It marks the fifth round at par or better each for the pair.
Abbie Lee sits fourth among Blue Raiders through the opening day and at T47 on the player leaderboard. She had a difficult back nine to open the day but was able to calm shots down with a front nine at par to finish six-over-par (77) on the round.
Ella Manley rounded out the lineup for Middle Tennessee, carding an 81 (+10) to sit T82. Nicole Johnson leads all individual competitors at T69 after turning in an eight-over 79 on the opening 18 holes of the tournament.
