Blue Raiders lead through two rounds at Golfweek Spring Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – It was a successful moving day for Blue Raider women's golf as the team climbed into first place at the Golfweek Spring Challenge. After turning in a six-over 290 Tuesday afternoon, the program owns a two-shot lead at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club heading into tomorrow's final round.
Abbie Lee shot the low round for Middle Tennessee in the second round at 69 (-2). The graduate student skyrocketed 33 spots on the player leaderboard to T14 after a near perfect round with just one bogey on the front nine.
Caroline Pardue continued her great play Tuesday, shooting just one-over-par to lead the Blue Raiders on the player leaderboard, on pace for her second top 10 finish of the season. She carded three birdies en route to moving up to T6 and 143 overall.
Isabella Johnson dropped in a birdie on her penultimate hole of the day but was unable to overcome a front nine double bogey, turning in a 74 (+3) in her second 18 holes of the tournament. She remains in the top 10 at T9 (144) on the player leaderboard.
Jillian Bowman and Ella Manley both shot a four-over 75 Tuesday. For Bowman, it dropped her five spots on the leaderboard after her 71 yesterday. In Manley's case, it was a great improvement day-over-day, jumping her up 18 spots to T64 with a 156 on her total scorecard.
Nicole Johnson remains tied for the lowest individual competitor at T79 after turning in an 81 Tuesday afternoon. The junior sits at 160 through the opening two rounds in South Carolina.
