PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – For the second time this season, the Middle Tennessee women's golf program will be bringing home a team crown, this time, from the Golfweek Spring Challenge. In a difficult final round, the Blue Raiders shot 297 to finish at 876 and earn their second team title of the campaign in their final regular season competition. It marks the first time since the 2015-16 season that the team has won two tournaments in the same year.
Isabella Johnson led the way for the team in her eighth-straight tournament, carding her 16th round at par this season with a 71 in the final round. She placed T5 at 215 (+2), her fifth top-five finish of her sophomore season.
Jillian Bowman shot just above par with a 71 in the third round, earning her second top ten place of her career with the T8 finish. Her round was clean and consistent with two birdies on the back nine to complete the tournament at 218 (+5).
It was Caroline Pardue who sealed the win for the Blue Raiders with a final hole at par and turned in a 77 (+6) following the third round, one of three 77s shot by Middle Tennessee Wednesday. The T10 place was Pardue's best finish since the Town & Country tournament in September.
Abbie Lee and Ella Manley shot the other six-over-pars on the day, with Lee finishing at T20, her best place of the season, and Manley at T58. Nicole Johnson turned in the lowest complete score for the individuals competing, shooting a 76 in the final round to score 236 and finish T73.
With the win, Middle Tennessee claimed the final spot in the inaugural Haskins Women's Intercollegiate next fall season.
