LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Isabella Johnson continued to shine for the Blue Raiders at the NCAA Louisville Regional Tuesday, turning in yet another round below par. Her 71 (-1) maintains her position in the top 10 and the hunt to advance to the NCAA Championships as the low scoring individual.
Beginning her day on the front nine, she turned in her first three holes at par before dropping in birdies on the following three. Leading Middle Tennessee in birdies, she made the turn at one-under-par after a pair of bogeys on seven and eight.
Making two more birdies on her back nine, she finished the day in lone possession of seventh place at six under, just three strokes behind the leaders, Indiana's Sheridan Clancy and Auburn's Anna Davis.
Houston remains at the front of the team leaderboard, followed by Auburn, Iowa State, Arkansas and Virginia Tech to round out the teams who would advance if competition ended today.
Johnson leads all players in par fives, averaging 4.25 per hole on a combined six-under on just the par five holes. She is second overall with 12 birdies on the week. The sophomore will tee off for the final round Wednesday at 8:50 a.m. CT, once again beginning on hole one.
