Volleyball Travels Northeast for Fairfield Invitational

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team is back on the road, heading northeast to compete in the Fairfield Invitational Friday and Saturday.
The Blue Raiders are facing off against Central Connecticut State, Brown and hosts Fairfield on the weekend. MTSU (6-3) enters the weekend having won two-of-three in each of its first three weekends.
Middle Tennessee starts the weekend against the Blue Devils (2-6) at 5 p.m. CST Friday before a doubleheader Saturday with the Bears (1-4) and Stags (4-4), respectively, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. CST.

Scouting the Blue Devils, Bears and Stags
CCSU enters the tournament looking for momentum after winning its first match of the season versus NJIT Sept. 12. Head coach Alyssa Broccoli is in her third season at the helm of the Blue Devils, accruing a 15-47 (.242) record.
Brown enters Connecticut looking to break a three-match losing streak. The Bruins head coach Taylor Virtue is in her fourth season with the Bears and has a winning 45-35 (.563) mark at the Providence, R.I. Ivy institution.
Hosts Fairfield return home with momentum on its side, having won three of its last four. The Stags are led by Nancy Somera, who has an impressive 72-29 (.713) record at Fairfield.
