Henry Collects Double-Double, Volleyball Defeats CCSU at Fairfield Invitational

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team defeated Central Connecticut State Friday at the Leo D. Mahoney Arena in Fairfield, Connecticut.
MTSU (7-3) has now won a season-high three consecutive matches.
Sophia Henry was a force on both sides of the ball, collecting her third-career double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs. It is the second double-double recorded of the season for the Blue Raiders.
Jaslyn Reed picked up 11 kills, her second consecutive match with double-digit kills. Gabrielle Clinkscale had 10 kills.
Middle Tennessee was led defensively by Marianne Garcia, who collected 22 digs.
MTSU won a close first set 26-24 that saw 14 ties. The Blue Raiders won on a bad set.
The second set was controlled by Middle Tennessee for a majority. The Blue Raiders took a comfortable 25-21 victory.
The Blue Devils (1-9) picked up their only set victory of the night in the fourth, picking up a 25-15 win in which they led from 2-1 up forward.
MTSU closed the match in four after winning 25-17. Logan Carr picked up the decisive kill, completing a victory in the first match of the Fairfield Invitational for the Blue Raiders.

--MTSU improves to 1-0 all-time versus CCSU.
--Gabrielle Clinkscale surpassed 300 career kills in the performance, now sitting at 307.
--Caroline Macander recorded her season-high in blocks with five.

Middle Tennessee completes its time at the Fairfield Invitational in a Saturday doubleheader which will see the Blue Raiders take on Brown at 10:00 a.m. CST before facing the Stags in the weekend closer at 2 p.m. CST.
The matchup versus the Bears will be streamed on the Stags Sports Network while the Fairfield match will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
