2013-14 (Sophomore)
Fall: Went 2-1 in singles play at the Dale Short Shootout & Advanced the doubles final with sophomore David Fox at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional & Made it to the fourth round of singles play at the Birmingham Future. Spring: Named second-team All-Conference USA doubles along with fellow sophomore David Fox & Ranked as high as No. 22 in the ITA doubles rankings & Went 7-8 in doubles play while teamed up with Fox & Tallied a 9-7 singles mark & Went 3-1 at No. 2 singles & Combined with Fox for a doubles victory over the 24th-ranked team in the nation at South Carolina Feb. 2 & Picked up a No. 2 singles win at No. 33 VCU (Feb. 14) & Knocked off the 57th-ranked player in the nation at No. 20 Vanderbilt (Feb. 9) & Had a singles victory vs. No. 47 Louisville (Jan. 25).
2012-13 (Freshman)
Spring: Joined MT program in the spring & earned All-Sun Belt First Team doubles honors with Ben Davis & Finished with an 18-8 singles record and a 13-9 doubles record & Over the course of the season, Davis and Cornea defeated then No. 11 Mississippi State's 13th-ranked pair of Jordan Angus and Malte Stropp, 8-4 in Flight 1 doubles, and had a 8-3 win over NC State's Beck Bond and Austin Powell & In singles play, Cornea s top wins came over Virginia Tech s Hunter Koontz (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 [7-5]), and Cal Poly s Derek Klein (6-4, 6-3) & Was 2-0 in SBC Championship play, earned All-Tournament team honors, dominating his two opponents by a combined 24-6 score.
Prior to Middle Tennessee
Was ranked as high as No. 126 as a junior by the International Tennis Federation and is the highest-ranked player to join the Blue Raider program during Borendame's tenure. Was the No. 1 player in Romania and had been in the top-three in Romania for his junior career. In August of 2011, Cornea won the Wilson-Tivoli Trophy championship in Timisoara, Romania and did not drop a set in the tournament. Cornea has also played in the Orange Bowl International and Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships in Florida for the last six years. He was coached by Marius Vecerdea and Cosmin Malanga.
