Tessa Grossman is in her third season as a member of the strength and conditioning staff for Middle Tennessee. Grossman, who was promoted to Associate Director for Strength and Conditioning in July, 2022, assists with football and directs all strength and conditioning for women’s basketball.
Grossman is responsible for designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for the football and women’s basketball team. She creates curriculum and oversees the strength and conditioning internship program, while also assisting with managing the Middle Tennessee nutrition area.
Prior to Middle Tennessee, Grossman served as graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Illinois State University, where she was responsible for designing and implementing annual training programs for women’s gymnastics, women’s golf and men’s tennis. She also assisted with the implementation of training programs for football, softball, volleyball and women’s basketball.
Grossman was also a Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellow for the Cincinnati Bengals, where she participated in virtual Q & A sessions with the Bengals’ physical therapist and their strength and conditioning staff. She was also in the Atlanta Falcons training camp in 2021 as part of the program and with the Jets in 2023.
Grossman also served as an intern football strength coach at the University of California Berkeley, the Los Angeles Rams, Mamba Sports Academy, Dartmouth College and Keen Performance.
Grossman received her B.S. degree from Dartmouth College in May, 2020, and her Master of Science in Sports Psychology and Biomechanics from Illinois State in 2022.
Grossman is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through NCSA, and she is also AED/CPR certified.
