Matt Langley enters his second year as an assistant coach for the MT Women’s Tennis program. A heralded Blue Raider student-athlete, Langley became the first men’s tennis athlete to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors in 2011 and 2012.
In 2014, he helped the Lady Raiders reach the Conference USA Championship quarterfinal in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to #19 nationally-ranked Tulsa. He also instructed C-USA Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection Tiffany William.
As a student-athlete, Langley helped the Blue Raiders to three Sun Belt Championships in 2009, 2011 and 2012. The West Beach, Australia native played a pivotal role in the Raiders’ back-to-back Sun Belt Championships in 2011 and 2012 being named the Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Langley earned a spot on the ITA All-Academic team for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012 and during his senior year, he was tabbed the MTSU International Student Athlete of the Year.
Langley graduated from Middle Tennessee in 2012 with a perfect 4.0 GPA in Exercise Science and went on to become an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranked player. He now resides in Murfreesboro with his wife, Linsley.
