Middle Tennessee Volleyball Falls to New Mexico State
10/14/2001 5:26:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
Las Cruces, NM - Middle Tennessee (6-13, 2-5 Sun Belt) volleyball put on a good show at New Mexico State University (11-7, 7-1 Sun Belt) on Sunday afternoon, but still fell to the Aggies 28-30, 22-30, 24-30 in the Pan American Center.
After a disappointing outing against Denver on Friday, the Lady Raiders played a strong match against the western division leading NMSU. The team looked more focused as Head Coach Lisa Kissee shuffled the line-up and started both setters, junior Kelly Quinn and sophomore Goldie Bilyeu, in order for Quinn to play a more defensive game.
Junior outside hitter Erin Hillstrom, from Garland, TX, posted a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs in the match. Freshman outside hitter Shakeithia Deckard led all scorers with 15 kills.
Middle Tennessee will brave the skies on Monday as the team returns to Murfreesboro. A three game home stand will begin on Friday when the Lady Raiders host Sun Belt Conference foe South Alabama at 7 p.m. in Murphy Center.
