MT Falls to Alabama 80-65

It was a tale of two halves for the Blue Raiders tonight as MT took an 80-65 loss at #4 Alabama.
The Blue Raiders took a 42-25 deficit into the half, but rebounded to outscore the Crimson Tide 40-38 in the second frame to keep the score under 20.
The story for Middle Tennessee came on the boards. The Blue Raiders outrebounded the Tide 42-34 with a 17-10 advantage on the offensive glass 17-10. The Blue Raiders also competed on the interior, as the Tide put together only a 32-26 scoring advantage in the paint.
The Blue Raiders were paced by Steven Jackson's 15 points. Jackson also turned in five rebounds, making both numbers career highs for the Memphis native. Tommy Gunn scored 14 and William Pippen 10. Gunn and Pippen each pulled down a team high eight rebounds in the game.
Alabama was led by Erwin Dudley's 17 points, while Kenny Walker, Maurice Williams, and Emmett Thomas each netted double figures.
The Blue Raiders will return to action on Wednesday at 7 PM against UT Martin at the Murphy Center.
