Softball Faces Chattanooga Wednesday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee softball travels to Chattanooga to take on UT-Chattanooga Wednesday at 3 and 5 p.m. Central time at Jim Frost Field.
The Lady Raiders are coming off a 2-2 finish at the Buzz Classic in Marietta, Ga. Hosted by Georgia Tech. Middle Tennessee has an overall record of 15-8 and faces a Chattanooga team that is 17-19. The teams have a recent common opponent in Princeton in which Chattanooga split with in a double header and Middle Tennessee defeated 5-4 in the Buzz Classic.
Current Sun Belt Hitter of the Week Cortney Mitchell leads the Lady Raider club with a .419 batting average, 12 RBI, 24 runs scored, 16 doubles and four homeruns. Middle Tennessee's ace on the mound is senior Stayc Preator who sports a 9-2 record and a 2.11 ERA.
Chattanooga holds an 8-0 advantage in the series. The last time these two clubs met was in 1998 at Chattanooga where the Mocs swept the series 3-1, 4-3.
