Four Blue Raiders To Participate In NCAA Regional

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee will send four participants to the South Region Cross Country Meet at the Harry Pritchett Golf Course in Mobile, Ala., Saturday. Geoffrey Lagat, Jonathan Guillou, Derek Dell and Steve Safstrom continue their successful seasons in hopes of advancing. "All four of these guys ran extremely well at the Sun Belt Championships two weeks ago and they have shown steady improvement throughout the season," Middle Tennessee coach Dean Hayes said. "They have trained hard since the Sun Belt meet and I believe they will have a good showing at the NCAA Regionals." Lagat finished fourth overall at the SBC Championships to help lead the Blue Raiders to a second-place finish, their highest mark since joining the Sun Belt in 2001. Dell finished fifth at the SBC meet as both he and Lagat earned All-SBC honors. Safstrom and Guillou were in the top 15 finishers and look to build on their strong finish at the NCAA Regional.
