Blue Raiders Finish Year Ranked 36th

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The 2005 edition of Middle Tennessee men's tennis finished the year ranked 36th in the final ITA poll, with one singles player and two doubles teams appearing in the final rankings, as well.
The No. 36 ranking is the highest final ranking for the Blue Raiders since the 2002 squad ended the year No. 34. Middle Tennessee won its first Sun Belt Conference championship in 2005, finishing 18-7 in dual matches after a heart-breaking loss to Auburn in the first round of the NCAA Team Championships.
Individually, sophomore Andreas Siljestrom finished the year ranked No. 100 in singles. Siljestrom 25-11 overall and 15-7 in dual matches, including four wins over ranked opponents.
In doubles, junior Brandon Allan and sophomore Kai Schledorn posted a 25-10 overall mark and 16-6 dual match record, earning a No. 27 final ranking.
Joining Allan-Schledorn are Siljestrom and sophomore Marco Born, who split a pair of matches in the NCAA Doubles Championships last week. The duo posted a 29-9 overall record and 19-3 dual match mark, and ended the year ranked 33rd.
