MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Linnie Yarbrough will participate in his second straight NCAA Championships beginning Wednesday at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex in Sacramento, Calif.
Yarbrough is set to run in the 110-meter hurdle preliminaries at 6:55 p.m. CT Wednesday, with the semifinals later that evening. Should the junior make it through the first two rounds, the event finals are set to Friday at 9:55 CT.
The Hunters Lane High School product has put together a spectacular year in the hurdles, winning five times indoors and three more times outdoors. He has run the 10th fastest time in the nation this spring and is currently ranked eighth in the Trackwire Dandy Dozen.
"Last year I went [into the championships] wide-eyed, looking at the SEC runners and All-Americans - I was star-struck," Yarbrough said. "This year, I've been around the block. I'm going to get some respect for the Sun Belt as a whole."
Yarbrough joins nine other Sun Belt athletes and two relay teams at the 84th Annual Men's and 24th Annual Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Full results may be accessed at http://www.ncaasports.com/track-and-field.
