Blue Raiders Defeat Denver 3-1

DENVER, Colo. - Senior Jessica Robinson notched a season-high 20 kills to help Middle Tennessee volleyball (12-4, 3-0 SBC) defeat Denver (8-6, 1-2 SBC) 3-1 (31-29, 32-34, 30-13, 30-17) Friday in Hamilton Gym.
After splitting the first two games, and forcing extra points in each of the first two games, Middle Tennessee put its game into another gear and took the final two games with ease. In the last two games of the match, the Blue Raiders forced the Pioneers to record negative attack percentages, -.073 and -.022, while they were on fire with .389 and .406.
Overall, Middle Tennessee hit a scorching .340 in the match and held Denver to .103. The Blue Raiders also had six service aces and had a total of 10.5 team blocks.
Junior Victoria Monasterolo recorded her third double double of the season with 19 kills and 14 digs. Sophomore Ashley Adams added 12 kills. Senior Megan Sumrell returned to the starting lineup at setter logging 56 assists in the match.
The victory pushes the Blue Raiders' win streak to six. It was also a milestone for Head Coach Matt Peck who picked up his 600th career win.
Middle Tennessee continues its Sun Belt Conference road swing with a visit to Denton, Texas to take on North Texas on Sunday. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
