Tracksters Head to Texas, Auburn

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Eight Middle Tennessee tracksters will take part in the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, on Friday and Saturday and the remainder of the men's and women's squads will compete Saturday at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala. Four Blue Raider men - sophomore Samuel Adade and seniors Jermaine Barton, Orlando Reid and Sean Waller - as well as four Middle Tennessee women - sophomore TraMayne Gillyard, seniors Shanna-Kay Campbell and Veronia Patterson and freshman Sarah Nambawa - will compete in the 80th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Field. Both foursomes will participate in the 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays. Both of the 4x400 relay preliminaries are the final running events in the morning session on Friday, while the finals take place at 4:25 p.m. on Saturday. There are no prelims for the 4x200-meter relay, just a final that takes place at 12:35 p.m. Saturday. The rest of the Middle Tennessee track squads will compete at the Tiger Track Classic at the Hutsell-Rosen Track. The men's and women's weight throw takes place Friday afternoon, with all other events on Saturday. The Tiger Track Classic will include 10 schools (from BCS conferences, including the No. 5-ranked Wisconsin men's team and the No. 21 Georgia Tech women's squad. Auburn will be joined by Alabama (W), Army (M/W), Bucknell (M/W), Georgia Tech (M/W), Iowa (W), Kentucky (M/W), Middle Tennessee (M/W), Minnesota (M), Penn State (M/W), Purdue (M/W), Troy (M/W), Vanderbilt (W) and Wisconsin (M/W).
