Blue Raiders prepare for Arkansas trip

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee will hit the road again this week after one week of home play this time traveling to Arkansas for matches with Arkansas State and Arkansas-Little Rock.
This weekend begins a four match road stretch for Middle Tennessee who will not play in Alumni Memorial Gym again until Oct. 20 when it has a rematch with rival Western Kentucky.
Middle Tennessee notched wins over Florida International and Florida Atlantic a week ago and will look to continue the momentum this weekend.
Sophomore Izabela Kozon was awarded Sun Belt Player of the Week after leading the Blue Raiders over FIU and FAU. In the two matches, Kozon knocked down 30 kills for a hitting percentage of .353. Kozon averaged 4.29 kills per set in the two matches.
Against the Golden Panthers, Kozon knocked down 17 kills averaging 4.25 kills per set. The Warsaw, Poland native scored 18.5 points for the Blue Raiders against FIU and 32.5 points for the weekend.
Middle Tennessee will begin the weekend by facing Arkansas State on Friday Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
The Red Wolves have won five straight matches and nine of the last 10. ASU is also undefeated in league play after defeating South Alabama and Troy a week ago.
The Blue Raiders then travel to Little Rock, Ark., to face UALR on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. UALR is also undefeated in league play at 5-0 and is currently on a seven-match win streak. UALR's last loss was 3-0 to Houston on Sept. 19.
