Blue Raiders begin 2009 season

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team will begin the 2009 season this weekend when it competes in the UNF Spring Invitational. The Blue Raiders will begin play in the three-day tournament on Friday, Jan. 9 in Jacksonville, Fla. Morgan Richard, the only senior on this year's squad, will help guide the Blue Raiders will assistance from juniors Alex McCann and Robert McKenzie. McKenzie is in first season with the Blue Raiders after transferring from Oklahoma. Sophomores John Peers and Richard Cowden will add depth to Middle Tennessee in 2009 after both performed well in the fall. Rounding out the 2009 Blue Raiders are junior Victor Melo, sophomore Kyle Wishing and freshman Michael Langley. Results from the tournament will be posted on www.goblueraiders.com as soon as they become available.
