MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Blue Raiders defeated UL-Lafayette 4-3 on Sunday morning at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center to win the consolation bracket of the Sun Belt Shootout. The team lost the doubles point 2-1 and used strong performances to overcome the early deficit for the win. Sophomore Shaun Waters, freshman Ben Davis, r-freshman Dimitri Pippos and senior Kyle Wishing each won their singles matches in straight sets to help hand their team the win. Middle Tennessee improves to 9-10 on the season. The Blue Raiders will be back April 9-10 when it plays North Florida and Memphis in Jacksonville, Fla. Middle Tennessee will play UNF on Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m. On Sunday, April 10 the team will play Memphis at noon. Results will be posted on goblueraiders.com when they become available.
