Raiders travel to San Antonio for regular season finale

MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee will go for its fourth win in a row as the Blue Raiders travel to San Antonio to take on UTSA in the final regular season contest. The Blue Raiders will be making their first-ever trip to UTSA.
Kickoff is set for 1:35 PM central time from Floyd Stadium and will be shown nationally on Fox College Sports (Comcast 262; DirecTV 608, Dish 459 and AT&T 647).
Middle Tennessee and UTSA will be meeting on the gridiron for the first time in school history.

STOCKSTILL SETS C-USA FRESHMAN PASSING MARK
With 322 passing yards against North Texas, quarterback Brent Stockstill set a new Conference USA freshman record. Stockstill, who now has 3,421 yards on the season, broke the previous mark of 3,128 yards set by former Southern Miss and current Cleveland Browns QB Austin Davis in 2008.
JAMES ADDS TO RECEPTIONS MARK
Wide receiver Richie James set a new single-season receptions record when he hauled in nine passes at FAU to give him 82 on the season. James broke the previous mark of 76 set by Kerry Wright in 2004. With one more catch he can tie JaJuan Dawson (Tulane) for 10th place on the C-USA all-time single-season list. His 93 grabs are also the most ever by a freshman in C-USA history.
1,000-YARD MAN
With 198 yard receiving yards (3rd most in school history) at FAU, WR Richie James became just the second player in MT history to record 1,000 receiving yards in a season. James now has 1,135 yards this year after posting 98 against UNT and is now chasing the single-season mark of 1,280 established by Kerry Wright in 2003. Wright also had 1,048 yards in 2004. James currently ranks third nationally in receptions and 11th in receiving yards.
TOP DUO IN SCHOOL HISTORY
The receiving tandem of Ed Batties and Richie James officially became the top duo for a single-season in school history following the win over Marshall. James and Batties have now combined for 164 receptions this season to break the previous mark of 134 set by Kerry Wright (74) and Chris Henry (60) in 2004. James now has 93 receptions on the season while Batties has added 71.
BATTIES ADDS TO TD RECORD
With a touchdown grab in overtime against Marshall, senior Ed Batties broke the single-season record of 11 set by Kerry Wright in 2004. Batties now has 13 on the season to rank sixth nationally and needs one more to tie for fifth on the all-time C-USA list. For his career, Batties now has 16 touchdown catches to rank tied for sixth all-time.
STOCKSTILL TIES CAREER RECORD
QB Brent Stockstill, who already owns nearly ever freshman passing record, tied the career mark for 300-yard passing games with his 322-yard effort against North Texas. Stockstill is tied with Wes Counts who had seven from 1998 to 2001. Stockstill enters the UTSA game with a school record four straight 300-yard passing games.
LETHAL FRESHMAN COMBINATION
Freshmen Brent Stockstill and Richie James have turned into a lethal combination for the Blue Raider offense this season. The duo is the first 3,000 yard passing and 1,000-yard receiving combo in school history and the pair could still have as many as two games to add to their totals.
BYARD SETS CAREER RECORD
Senior Kevin Byard broke a 33-year old Middle Tennessee record when he hauled in his 18th career interception against North Texas on Senior Day. Byard broke the school record set by James Griffin (1979-82). Byard's 18 picks is currently second nationally among active players.
