Raiders open play at FAU Slomin Championship

54-hole event begins Friday
MURFREESBORO – After a little more than two weeks off, the Middle Tennessee men's golf team returns to action this weekend at the FAU Slomin Autism Championship in Lake Worth, FL. The event will take place at the Fountains Country Club North Course, which is a par 71, 6,876 yards.
The 20-team event will have the following programs competing: Arkansas State, Bethune-Cookman, DePaul, (57) East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, FAU, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Hartford, Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Illinois, Rhode Island, St. John's, Stetson, Central Florida, Connecticut, and Xavier.
"We had a good break and look forward to returning to competition," said Head Coach Whit Turnbow. "I know the guys will be excited to see some nice weather for a change."
The Blue Raider lineup for this weekend will include seniors Payne Denman and Brett Patterson, sophomore Drake Duncan, and freshmen Hoyeong Kim and Connor Smith. Sophomore Connor Slane will be playing as an individual.
Denman leads the Raiders with a 73.6 stroke average this season to go with two top 10 finishes and a low round of 68. Duncan owns the next best stroke average at 75.6 followed by Kim's 75.8.
The tournament will consist of 54 holes with 18 each being played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Blue Raiders will get underway on Friday at 9:20 AM Eastern off hole No. 1. Live results will be available at golfstat.com.
