MT at Vanderbilt tonight
NASHVILLE – Middle Tennessee will look to continue its winning ways when the Blue Raiders travel to Nashville to face No. 8 Vanderbilt tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The Blue Raiders (23-16) lost the earlier meeting against Vanderbilt, 12-7, at Reese Smith Field March 24. Vanderbilt (29-12) is looking to get back on track after losing six of its previous eight with four of the setbacks by one run.
Middle Tennessee is in the midst of a season-high six-game winning streak and sits atop C-USA, while Vanderbilt is tied with Missouri for the lead in the SEC race. The Blue Raiders will send Garrett Ring to the mound for tonight's contest.
"It's a big game for many different reasons," Middle Tennessee Head Coach Jim McGuire said. "We want to keep our momentum going and we are facing a really, really good Vanderbilt team. More than anything, we have been playing pretty well and we want to continue that."
Middle Tennessee is in the midst of nine games on the road. The game at Vanderbilt marks the team's fourth straight road game. The Blue Raiders are 10-9 on the road this season.
The Blue Raider outfield has continued to be highly productive. The trio of Ronnie Jebavy (.365), Brad Jarreau (.318) and Jared Allen (.289) have the team's top three batting averages. They have also combined for 15 home runs, four triples, and 20 doubles.
Allen has provided 10 home runs and 39 RBI, both team highs, and Jebavy has four home runs, three triples and 11 doubles.
