Dustin Delgado's groundout to short plated one run and Jebavy followed with a double to score another as the Blue Raiders narrowed the deficit to 4-3. Once again, Southern Miss came back with a vengeance. The Golden Eagles answered with three in the top of the fourth as they knocked Nate Hoffmann from the game and took a 7-3 advantage.
The see-saw affair was far from decided.
Middle Tennessee stormed back with five runs in the bottom of fifth to take an 8-7 lead after sending nine batters to the plate. Jarreau nailed his second double of the game to start the uprising.
