MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Tied for the best start to conference play in school history, Middle Tennessee seeks to extend its win streak to 10 consecutive at UTSA Thursday night.
The contest will mark just the fourth meeting between the Blue Raiders and Roadrunners. MT leads the series 2-1, but is in search of its first win in San Antonio. Middle Tennessee claimed the lone matchup from the 2016 campaign with a 79-71 win in Murphy Center.
The Blue Raiders (19-3, 9-0) erased an 11-point deficit in their last outing against LA Tech to rally for a 71-61 victory to remain unbeaten in league play.
JaCorey Williams, who averaged just nine points in the previous two outings, led the charge with 19 points. Giddy Potts and Reggie Upshaw added 17 and 14 points, respectively.
Defensively, MT surrenders a league-best 61.4 points per game in conference play and leads the league with a plus-3.7 turnover margin.
The Roadrunners (9-12, 4-4) dropped an 81-66 decision at WKU in their last outing. Jeff Beverly paces UTSA's offense with 15.6 points per game, while reigning C-USA Freshman of the Week Byron Frohnen hauls in 6.7 boards a night.
Tip-off from Convocation Center is set for 7 p.m. Following Thursday's contest, MT will cap the weekend road trip with a Saturday matchup at UTEP.
