MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee is back on the road to take on Tennessee Tech Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in Cookeville.
The Blue Raiders will look to bounce back after losing their last four games.
Tuesday's game will account for the 120th time the two programs have met. The two teams split the mid-week games a season ago with each team winning on the road. MT leads the overall series 84-34-1.
Slugger Aaron Aucker continues to impress this season, leading the team with a .402 batting average, seven home runs, and a .732 slugging percentage. The redshirt junior was one of the bright spots in the last week, hitting .500 over the last four games.
Aucker is currently on a 12-game hit streak, while amassing at least one base knock in every game since returning from injury on April 7.
The MT lineup continues to be a force with six of the nine starters batting .309 or better. The Blue Raiders rank 25th in the nation with 426 hits (2nd in C-USA) on the season and 44th with 79 doubles.
Several Blue Raiders rank atop the conference in different offensive categories. Senior shortstop Riley Delgado is 5th with 57 hits, second baseman Ryan Kemp is 8th in slugging percentage at .592 and Austin Dennis ranks 3rd in stolen bases (11) and T-7th in RBI (37).
Middle Tennessee has been solid defensively as well, ranking 56th in the country with a .974 fielding percentage.
Freshman RHP Grant Williams will make his seventh straight mid-week start Tuesday night.
Tennessee Tech has struggled as of late, after getting swept at Southern Illinois this past weekend. However, TTU has dominated all year, defeating Vanderbilt two weeks ago and holding a 16-2 record in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Tech is an offensive juggernaut with eight of its nine starters hitting .293 or better.
An audio stream will be available on cusa.tv/raidervision and on the radio (92.3 WMOT 2). Follow live tweets on Twitter (@MT_Baseball).
