College Station, Tx. – Middle Tennessee's top three finishers on both teams were freshmen at the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Saturday morning. Brian Rono led the men with a 33rd overall finish and a time of 25.14.9 while Pamela Kosgei led the women, finishing 14th with a time of 21:03.7.
Once again, the men's team ran as one of the youngest teams in the field as Brian Rono, Caden Hercules, and Dennis Kipkorir leading the way for the Blue Raiders. Rono made his college debut on Saturday and ran the best time of any MT runner this season. Hercules and Kipkorir also improved on their personal best times from their last race in Louisville.
The MT women ran their first race at the NCAA distance of 6K season, and the first 6K race overall for many of the freshmen. Three freshmen, the Kosgei sisters and Joice Jebor, were the top finishers for MT and the team finished in the top half of a talented field.
