Match Notes
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Gian Issa looks to remain unbeaten and the Blue Raiders are aiming to continue the success they've had in doubles action as Middle Tennessee's men's tennis team (9-2) takes on Wisconsin (5-5) on Sunday at 10 a.m.
After a win over Wichita State last weekend, Issa is 11-0 in the dual match season and is currently ninth all-time in singles wins in program history. In doubles action, the Blue Raiders are 20-3 as a team, including a 9-1 mark from Tom Moonen and Chris Edge, followed by a 6-0 record by Gonzalo Morell Raschiatore and Miguel Negre Fernandez.
Doubles teams representing Wisconsin have found some success early in the season as well, as two teams have a record of 4-0, including the top doubles combo of Chema Carranza and Josef Dodridge. All five losses so far in the season have come against Power 5 programs, including No. 39 Mississippi State and No. 41 Minnesota.
Head coach Danny Westerman is in his third season at his alma mater. While the Badgers have a 26-26 singles record as a team, they've locked down the middle of the lineup so far this season. At No. 3 and 4, the Badgers have a combined record of 14-4.
Free food from Jimmy John's will be given out at the match, while it lasts. Live stats will be available, and updates and information will be posted on Twitter, @MT_MensTennis, and Facebook, MTSU Men's Tennis.
