Blue Raiders Return to Conference USA Tournament

HOUSTON, Texas. – For the first time since 2013, the Middle Tennessee volleyball team will be competing in the Conference USA Tournament this weekend, hosted by the Rice Owls.
The Blue Raiders enter the tournament as the No. 8 seed and take on Western Kentucky in the quarterfinals Friday at 12 p.m. Live stats will be available and all matches will stream live on ESPN+.
Quarterfinals – Friday, Nov. 22 – 12 p.m. – Middle Tennessee vs. WKU
2 p.m. – Marshall vs. FAU
5 p.m. – Rice vs. UTEP
7 p.m. – North Texas vs. UTSA
Semifinals – Saturday, Nov. 23 – 12 p.m. – TBA
2:30 p.m. – TBA
Championship – Sunday, Nov. 24 – 12 p.m. – TBA
The last time the Blue Raiders made it to the C-USA Tournament was also the first year Middle Tennessee joined the conference in 2013, when it was hosted in Murfreesboro by the Blue Raiders. MT fell to FIU in the quarterfinals, the same team they just defeated last weekend in a five-set thriller to clinch a spot in this year's tournament.
Senior Dora Peonia continues to lead the offense, tallying a team high 356 kills on the year, putting her at No. 6 in the conference for total kills. She is only nine kills away from reaching 1,000 career-kills and holds the fourth spot in program history for individual career kills. Taylor Hammill has the second most assists in C-USA with 1,066 total and also ranks at No. 35 in the nation. Bri Tankesley is fifth in the conference for total digs and seventh for her average 3.68 digs per set.

Team Notes
- Dora Peonia has led the team attacks on 15 occasions and has recorded 13 double-doubles on the season. She also recorded a career-high 23 kills against Marshall, and a career-high .636 hitting percentage against UT Martin.
- Urte Neimantaite tallied a career-high 19 kills on two occasions, against Tennessee Tech and Marshall. She has one double-double on the season and has led the team attacks on nine occasions.
- Neimantaite is ranked 10th in the conference for her average 3.23 kills per set.
- Taylor Hammill recorded her 2,000th career-assist against Marshall on October 11. She has also recorded 12 double-doubles this season. Hammill is ranked fourth in the conference for her 9.95 assists per set.
- Hammill recorded a season-high 52 assists on two occasions and a season-high 18 digs, and is tied for third on the team with 21 total service aces on the year.
- Bri Tankesley recorded her 1,000th dig against UT Martin on October 22. She also recorded a career-high four aces against Alabama A&M and a season-high 26 digs against Marshall.
- Tankesley is also ranked seventh in the conference for her average 3.67 digs per set, and is second on the team in service aces with 24 total.
- Amalie Jorgensen nearly doubled her career-high blocks against North Texas, finishing with 11 total on the match.
- Kayla Henley has recorded four double-doubles on the season. She also tallied a career-high 19 digs against Western Illinois.
- Marley Banton leads the team in service aces with 27 total on the year.
- Mikaela Weidmann leads the team in blocks with 98.0 total, and is tied for third on the team in service aces with 21.
